well i know it grows a more each year, its hard to foresee it on a large scale as say, college basketball.... even women's college basketball.
Your crusade against aluminum bats is duly noted. Purists certainly long for the days of wooden bats and a "crack" instead of a "ding", but you might as well save your breath. It's an economic decision. Wooden bats break. Aluminum bats don't.
We get a lot of college baseball games on in Atlanta at the end of the basketball season, but we also get a lot of softball games too. I was able to see several LSU games last season but I'm not sure what network they were on, probably the College Sports South or something of that nature. If the fans keep going to games around the south and interest keeps rising ESPN will eventually start showing more and more of them. I really think that it would enhance their marketing of the College baseball regionals and super regionals as well as the CWS and would eventually make them a lot more in revenue, and that's the key. By the way, baseball is a huge sport above the mason-dixon line, much more so than hockey, the problem is that the waether for spring baseball is not very good. If the college season extended farther into the sunner, it would be a big boast to the college game. Guess that will not ever happen though.
College baseball is not a big sport outside of the South and West. The media center is located in the Northeast where quality college baseball does not exist.
I wonder how many people can't wait to get home in the evening to watch the World Poker Championships on ESPN. :sob: :sob: :sob:
Water cooler conversation at work the next day: "Man, did you see that guy draw to that inside straight last night?"
If it weren't for Political Correctness, Title IX and all the other B.S., you'd never see Women's anything. It's merely a "loss leader" to get Men's Basketball. As far as No Limit Texas hold 'em - I'M ADDICTED. I watch it on ESPN and the Travel Channel. I've even caught myself watching replays. CHRIS MONEYMAKER IS THE MAN!!! One day, I WILL play in the World Series of Poker!!!
