Why does the media think Weis is such a great coach?

No need to apologize at all. You didn't mislead US, you were MISLEAD by the media.:hihi: Seriously, the media has done ND and it's fans a huge injustice by hyping them up the way they have. Bottom line? The media wants it to be, but it just isn't. Why does the media care? Because ND sells. I have a few friends who really love ND football, and it actually pains me to see the way ND's performances affect them. Obviously, like good fans, they really thought ND was gonna give LSU a run for their money in the Sugar Bowl. When that didn't happen, some of them were literally shocked...as if they actually got it. (that they really didn't belong in the BCS) They were pretty quiet leading up to this season around me, and last weeks...er...performance has rendered them totally mute...if not invisible. But, like Tiger fans of the 90's, I'm sure they'll persevere...and one day see their team back on top.:thumb:

I respect ND's tradition, and quite frankly...ours doesn't compare. Nobody in their right mind can argue that. I believe that if I was a fan of a team with the same tradition and history, it would be impossible for me to accept that "next year" just ain't coming this year. It will be interesting to see how Bama fans handle this if Saban doesn't really turn that program around.

Look, I'm a big boy and I can take my fair share of shots. I understand why people want to pile on ND when its down. (They better enjoy it this season cause CW is rebuilding and reloading ND this season.) But, it seems unfair to take shots at me when I do not have a chance to defend myself where my posts are automatically deleted even when I am basically agreeing with what
other LSU posters are posting. If you're going to delete my posts automatically like that, it seems more or less like an unofficial ban.

 

"Other" implies that you are an LSU fan......you're not. It's kinda like the "I can talk about my family but somebody else better not" thingy. It's one thing for LSU fans to say certain things and viewed completely differently when it comes out of the mouths of visitors.......especially with your history.

I deleted three of your posts: One was non-lsu, another was in the wrong forum, and the third was out of line......but just say the word and we can make it official.

 

He and Crennel were locks because of their work at NE. Both are proof just because you were involved with a successful program in one location, it doesn't mean that success will transfer.

Any new hire gets touted, and those doing the touting don't like to admit they were sooooooo wrong. Especially when it was as visible as the ND hire. There will be excuses until he is gone, then he will be vilified, and the process will repeat until someone has a good season. Then the crowing will start, "We're Back! I know everyone missed us so, but We're back!", no matter how short they stay. As soon as the lofty perch is exposed as a fraud, the search will be on again.

Weis is an alumni, he he is white, everyone associated with ND wants this guy to succeed so much they will not let them selfs see any thing else. This is his 3rd season. Coaches just do not get many more than that now a days.

Of course, I'm not an LSU fan although I do respect the talent of the football team. But, I don't understand why my post that pointed out that the stumbling block was that the Raiders did not want to include a full skills clause, that JR might not be the first pick in next year's NFL draft if he re-entered and could potentially lose millions(the same thing happened to Mat Leinart who dropped from the consensus first pick to the tenth pick the following year), and that the Raiders were idiots for picking JR first if they had such concerns. All those points were later repeated in that thread by other posters so I fail to see how my comments were inappropriate.

I believe I was also the first poster to predict a long holdout between JR and the Raiders, but I was quickly labeled a hater for predicting that.
