I counted something like 14 drafted, a few more undrafted that played in the NFL. Craig Nall, moved to another school and drafted. Howard Green was brought in from JC, for the 2000 season by Gerry and drafted.Green signed in the 1998 class, due to grades had to attend JC.

Yes there was a bunch of talent, they beat Ark 35-10, an it wasn't that close with Hal Hunter as the Head Coach for the end of the season. Hal would leave LSU, take the job as an OC for Cam Cameron at Indiana.

Archer had much of the same problem.

Archer was a good guy that loved LSU, but he wasn't nearly ready for a head coaching job. His deficiencies went way farther than just recruiting.

I will always believe that if we had given the job to Steve Spurrier when he wanted it, we would have won the National Championship the year we went 10-1-1. Hodson would have been unstoppable in the fun and gun. Plus we had a great defense.

To be fair, and I'm not in any way saying you are in this crowd but many still have a very deep infatuation with little nicky. They are the ones that need to let go.

So what do you want? Fire a winning coach and hire who? Don't hold your breath.

Only the chronic whiners. They will whine after we lose and they will whine after we win.

Why Gary Patterson, of course. Since he's again winning (most of his games) in the Big 12 after that rough 4-8 outing with his inexperienced QB last season.
