Now you're bringing up 2 totally different situations in LSU football. When Saban was hired we were in a horrible place. It wasn't a attractive job. Miles came in under a completely different set of circumstances. What has Miles actually built at LSU?
Saban only had one season that was better than 7-5 while he was at Michigan St. His best was 10 wins. Even DiNardo could win 10 games once.
You stated that Miles previous record made him unqualified. I simply showed you that you were using very flawed logic.
He hasn't done it in 10 years. Why should I believe that he will all of a sudden start now. He is who he is.
You're talking about 2 different situations. He wouldn't have been qualified either if we had won the Championship the year before.
I never said he would do different, just what he needs to do. Maybe he will slip in the shower, hit his head and see the light. One can only hope.
DiNardo was doing a good job in recruiting after his three winning seasons. There was talent there, it just wasn't being utilized properly. Everyone didn't leave the program in 1998 and 1999, evidenced by the win over Arkansas at the end of 1999. What coach has been consistently among the top teams since 2005? Not Saban, he was in the NFL, then he had a bad first year at Bama. It's really difficult to main a team the way Miles has.
So if Dinardo had won the championship in his last season and got a better job that would have made Saban a bad hire? WTF?
