JJ Redick might make a very good NBA player but history is against him. Most Duke players flat out suck when they get to the NBA. The only ones that have been successful at the next level that I can think off the top of my head are Elton Brand, Corey Magette and Grant Hill before his injuries. The best comparison to make to Redick's game would be Trajan Langdon or Shane Battier, who both sucked in the NBA.
No Doubt, JJ is not a spot up shooter. He may be the best shooter ever. I was at the game at UNC and when Roy Williams put Jackie on JJ instead of David Noel in the 2nd half and JJ scored 0 points. All 17 were in the first half.
If you still buy into the 'Duke players don't make it in the NBA' then you've been asleep for the past five years.
I'm not disagreeing with you, but the so called experts said the same thing about kurt heinrich. the guy hit the gym, plays tenacious d and is considered one of the better PGs in the east.
The reason golf was dominated by white guys is because it was brought to mainstream through club houses, and as we all know most club houses only allowed African-American's in as help.
...and as caddies. Another reason is that golf is a relatively expensive sport, thus not economically feasible for inner city youth. Tiger Wood's foundation is trying to rectify that by making equipment and course access available. Since the Tiger phenomenon began, I would guess that participation by blacks has, at least, doubled.
Shane Battier's career statistics: Min: 31.8 PPG: 10.8 APG: 1.7 RPG: 4.7 3P%: .383 After looking at his career statistics, I'll back away a little bit from my statement that he sucks. I haven't followed his career in great detail. Considering the hype Shane Battier had coming out of college, I'd say he didn't live up to the Duke hype. They are adequate numbers for sure though. Very good, I don't think so.
