yes and the bama fans like to cite irrelevant stats because of their lame schedule thus far. thus 'padding' their stats with a whopping 26 pts against MTSU and 35 against Utah St. not to mention 13 at ole myth and 24 at arkansas. all stellar defenses.

the one quality defense they faced was UT where they averaged 3.7 yards per rush and 7 yards per pass attempt. they 'hung' 6 on phat phil.

LSU's defense is MILES ahead from its first game to now due to our new coaching staff settling in. our d line is very comparable to UTs and with Bamas lack of depth at oline as you mentioned, this will be a large factor as well. if the gumps really think 10 pts will be enough to beat a team with the most weapons at skill position in the conference they could be in for a rude awakening.

LSU subs the Dline throughout the entire game. can you say wear that ass out?

good luck trying to throw on the run, brodie. we've seen that act before.

im guessing the back of his jersey will read NETORW at the end of the day or at least read 89.

they definately have some O line issues, even they say that.
the ONLY issues we have is shooting ourselves in the foot.
if we keep the ball, no turnovers, call a good game ( Jimbo ) and few penalties. woeee unto Bama. :hihi:

    My take on Bama.

    1. Biggest quality win is Florida. I didn't see this game, but based on what I saw from Florida in Tiger Stadium, this is no big feat. Our game with them was close only because of 5 turnovers. I'm not super impressed with blowing out a sputtering UF team.

    2. UT really should have beat bama. They fumbled twice inside of the 10 yard line in a 6-3 game. Also, the bama receiver pushed off on the long pass that set up the game winning field goal. I say this as a neutral observer who was actually kinda pulling for Bama during the game.

3.A very poor Southern Miss team(losses to NC State and Tulsa) was right in the game and actually ahead of Bama at the half. This despite Prothro making the best catch ever for TD.

4.My biggest concern is this will be our 1st big test on the road. Crowd noise hasn't really been a factor in our away games except a little in Arizona(I was there and it wasn,t SEC loud.

    5. Bottom line...low scoring game which will be decided by special teams and turnovers. Points will be hard to come by and defensive TD may be the difference.

    To Bamatide12:

Lets talk about your QB. He is smart I'll give him that, but he is sort of puny. He usually gets hurt every year and Bama rolls right down the hole with him. He may not even make it through the Miss St. game. My advice to you guys is to start recruiting big strong D-1 quarterbacks and one day just maybe you guys can compete with the likes of LSU.

PS: You really need to be worried about Miss. St.
If Brodie (Brodie stands for puny) takes one good shot from state he
is out and Bammer loses to state. Then you guys can say "Bama
would have won if Brodie was healthy".

In all fairness, there is something to be said about the difficulties the LSU offense will face--both against a great defense *and* the crowd and noise factor.

Alamaba is +4 in takeaway/giveaway in both the Florida and Tenn games, turning it over a grand total of zero times in both games. Florida had 9 penalties for 85 yds, Tenn 10 penalties for 70.

Add to this LSU's well-chronicled problems holding onto the ball and committing penalties---at home, no less---and you have to suspect the Tigers will have turnover and penalty issues in Tuscaloosa as well.

That's an issue that needs to be considered, and is not smak.

You haven't been paying attention, Bammer. LSU's pass defense has improved in each game. And our rushing defense is better than Bama.

Two games we won, Einstein. Despite your hero worship of an average SEC quarterback, Bwody and Jamarcus sport identical 60.% completion averages. All that world-renowned brainpower hasn't bought him a single percentage point of advantage.

BwaaaaHaaaaaHaaaaa!! We know intimidating crowd noise and what they generate in Tuscaloosa falls way short.

I just marked it. Now we'll see if you have the stones to come back here after the game, Mr. Bragger.

I'll tell you what I think. LSU is going to make it very difficult for the Bama team to back up your boasts.

Let's also not for get the Crimson Turd's spectacular 9-point ass-thrashing of that football dynasty, Southern Miss. Miss. teams have given the Elephants fits this year. I'll laugh if Sly gives 'em all they can handle.

If it's anything like it was against UF JR will have some problems. UF was the loudest game I've heard in my lifetime...and that's weighing it against the crowd noise I've heard in Death Valley and the Swamp.

I think LSU/AU/UA are evenly matched this year. Anyone could beat the other one at anytime. I may be wrong but it's hard to imagine a blowout in any of the games between them.

For some Bama fans that are coming here thinking they are some clear cut favorite over LSU, in the words of sabanfan to jesuit_Loser GFY :hihi:
