WHY are ESPN and ABC making such a big deal about the Rose Bowl being THE Bowl?

You will have to learn, as I have, that TigerEducated is the all-knowing rusheshana of college football. Your little "opinions" mean jack shit to such an educated fan of the game. We can only aspire to be like him one day (but not live in Denham Springs of course)

Also, all the games being on ABC does not take anything away from what was posted. If ABC can market both games as the national title game, then yes it does benefit them.

 

They are making a big deal out of it, because if USC wins they will have a share of the national championship. They will most likely be voted number 1 by the Associated Press.

There's been split national championships before, I don't think it is some sort of insult to LSU if USC is voted national champs by the AP. Washington and GA Tech split a title and Michigan and Nebraska split a title, Alabama and USC split a title, no one thinks lesser of either school because of that.

I'd like to see LSU and USC play for the national title, but unfortunately that won't happen. Until there is a playoff of some sort all national championships will be mythical.

LSU and USC if they both win can hang or fly National Champions banners in Tiger Stadium and the Colesium.
