Don't you feel more confident about our Quarterback position that you did prior to the game? Did you listen to Miles on ESPN after the game. He stated that he knew Lee could make those completions. He said that after Lee threw the quick six that he told him not to worry, if you throw the ball mistakes will occur, keep throwing. If you have confidence in Miles and Crowton then you should have confidence in Lee. Crowton doesn't call plays that he expects to fail. Lee made some great throws in the second half. Some that few LSU quarterbacks could have made as a red shirt freshman. He is still just nineteen years of age. I watched several games yesterday and saw a lot of quarterbacks that looked no better than Lee. Fortunately we have the defense and the OL to soften the effects of his mistakes as he matures.
That's a big 10-4, Amen, Rodger that, and heck yeah. Some people can't even relish a victory at a hostile environment, and the fact that we put up more points in Auburn than we have with Russell, Flynn, or Mauck for one friggin day without buzzkill. Hats off to Lee for having the composure to stay focused and get the job done in the second half. Geaux Tigers.
I share the concern over the secondary, particularly McCray. Is it just me or does he look like he's "lost"? I shudder to think what Tebow might do.
I agree. Fans need to realize how rare it is to have a redshirt freshman perform at such a high level with an offense this complicated. Hodson comes to mind as one of the few LSU has had to do so. Our offense then did not have the multiple formations, as many reads, or demanded high QB execution for our offense to succeed. Hodson mainly read the blitz and threw it to Davis. Lee will improve.
Damn, I cant believe their is a thread against praise for a GREAT comeback performance by our young talented QB. He threw a horrible pass that could have cost LSU the game. You could see the fire in his eyes on the sideline, he wanted to make up for the error and showed great heart in doing so.......sorry, but I choose to only look at the positive side of this. My beer is always half full.
I didn't say Alabama were world beaters, I simply said that they look to have a formidable defense (like always). Just because I'm not on Lee's jock, doesn't mean I don't want the kid to do well. The pass to Lafell at the end of the game was such a dangerous pass. If the corner was playing like he should, he could have read the throw and pick 6'd the ball. He didn't and LSU wins, which is the result that I wanted. But the throw itself was a very dangerous one and he could easily be the goat today. The pass to Chris Mitchell wasn't pretty but he trusted his receiver to make a play on the ball and Mitchell did. Like I said, Lee looks to be maturing, I just don't know why everyone is crowning him the next 4 year starter at LSU. Because if you look at the second half again. He made about 3 quality throws and the rest could have made for a much more displeasing result.
Every fan base has 'one of those guys'. This thread shows who 'that guy' is. The same kind of guy like on the movie Major Leagues who bashes the team until the second before they win the Championship, then tells everyone else "I told you so." Why the 'leg humping' for Lee? Humm...? maybe because he did something no one else has done here since 1998?
I relished the victory last night. Now I am just voicing my opinions and concerns. Take them for what they are worth.
