Why would that be sad, I think having 2 great CB's is just as important to this team as a good QB to tell you the truth, if they can't score thay can't beat us.

    The Defense!

I think the Defense and the D-Coordinator for LSU were the MVPs. Great defensive scheme and the players carried out the plan completely from execution to all out effort. Relentless is the only way to describe them last night.

The way the DBs covered Oklahoma's receivers man to man all night long because of the blitzes is the only thing LSU fans need to point to when USC says that they have the best talent in college football. Mike Williams is good, but not that much better than Clayton and company. Who ran the ball effectively on LSU this year? Exactly. LSU is #1.

The entire defense. I've really enjoyed watching Daniels develop. Would understand if some of the juniors leave but I sure hope they stay.

How about Nick Saban as MVP. He outcoached Bob Stoops big time in this game. I no longer think of Bob Stoops as one the great coaches in college football.....He is good but his teams prosper due to overwhelming talent. In a game where he had to actually do some game day decision making, he was left in the dust by Nick Saban.

That's exactly what I was about to write - Nick Saban, MVP! I feel like the dudes on SNL talking about Dit-ka when I talk about Nick Saban. If Saban played defense against the 2000 St. Louis Rams, how many points would they score? Well, it would be 11 on 1, but they would score ZERO! And Saban would score 77 on interception returns! Sa-ban!

Okay, if the award has to go to players, I couldn't pick just one. But I definitely would give it to someone on defense. I'd go with Spears and Hill as co-MVPs. They dominated. I was shocked when they announced JV as the recipient. I really thought Spears was a lock for it.
