Im having a tough time remembering all those instances where we benefited from bogus calls in the Arkansas game last year.
I hope Auburn wins because I want the Bammers to wonder whether Saban can beat Auburn. No matter what else he does, he has to beat Auburn or the honeymoon crashes in flames.
First you say "Bama wins no questions asked," then you say,"So it could go either way" ...... interesting viewpoint that seems to cover all the bases ..... be careful that limb doesn't snap way out there :hihi: Here's a couple of facts to consider: 1. Bama has never beaten Auburn at Bryant-Denny 2. Bama O avgs. about 14 ppg, and only 12 ppg if you toss out the high-game of the season 3. Auburn's defense has not allowed a TD in the 1st Quarter this season 4. The team leading at halftime has won 53 of the 72 games (74% ) Take Auburn and the points .........
Thus the thread I started "Is Bama the worst #1 ever?" If Auburn doesn't give away cheapies and can at least have a draw regarding the all important battle of field position, they will pull off the "perceived" upset.
Auburn has the same weakness on defense that LSU does, and matches up alot better with a team like alabama who likes to line up i formation and try to win the line of scrimmage. Alabama is playing against a wounded animal and i just cant help but think that Auburn pulls this one out in a heartbreaker for the elephants. 17 -10, and Auburn scores late in the 4th with a Kodi Burns scramble, and Bama just dosent have enough time at the end of the game.
This will be HUGE next Saturday iyam. Kodi has too much heart to let that change. Look for him to go for 350+.
There are other things in football such as defense and special teams.... I hate to keep referring to the 92 season, but this year seems to be a spitting image. *Only beat Southern Miss by 7 *Only beat La Tech by 13 *Beat Tennessee by 7 *Beat MSU by 9 *Beat Florida by 7 Drilled #1 Miami in the Sugar Bowl with Heisman winner and "explosive offense" 34-13 to win the National Championship. Did they do it with offense? Jay Barker was a decent QB that year who didn't really put up good numbers at all--similar to JPW? Those who say Bama has "no chance at all" need to go back and watch this game, the USC/Stanford game from last year, Michigan/App St, USC/Oregon St., OM/Florida etc...
Auburn has played much better defensively than LSU. Hell, LSU would be 10-1 right now if we played at the level of Auburn's defense.
