I liked Shaun Alexander, though he wasn't playing for them in '92. I didn't much care for him when he ran for almost 300 yards and 4 TD's against us in Tiger Stadium back in... '96 was it? But I gotta give credit where credit is due, he was pretty good. Oh... I picked Florida btw as the performance of the season. It's going to take that to beat them... maybe twice if we're having a good year.
I picked Ole Miss. That game will either determine who wins the West (barring a great year for Arky) or will be a revenge game for last year, or both. I think the Tigers will be ready for Ole Miss. Plus, some very high-profile youngsters will have matured and found their sea legs by that time....
Georgia imo. I'm not sure why.. just a feeling. I can see us absolutely dominating them in the run game and in special teams.
Bama, because we match up well. Bama doesn't run the spread on offense. We both put a premium on running the ball and playing real physical on defense. Should be a well matched game. But you can never tell in April. Who would have predicted us at 8-5 and Bama at 12-2? Injuries and momentum play a large part in college football.
Teague beating the $*%t outta TO on the Cowboys Star was classic! It was the weekend of my 30th birthday, and there had been a big party at my house the night before. Merton Hanks, who played for the 49ers in the 90's and was doing a radio broadcast of the game the next day, was there (he's a childhood friend of my husband's), and he was supposed to bring TO, but TO couldn't get out of team meetings. That's too bad, really. As for the poll, we owe butt whippins to so many different folks after last year that it's hard to pick. My gut tells me we might put one of those VT-style whippins on UGA this year between the hedges. I can dream, at least. I lost a bet I made with a friend during that game, and I want to get even.
(hoping for reverse mojo) this has to be the year that they play well against arkansas and ole miss in the same year. i dont think i can take it anymore.
Agreed. It should be a good close game again this year. LSU is known for their fast and physical defense. They have a tough running game. They have speed on both sides of the ball. Alabama is physical on defense and can stuff the run. They have a play maker at WR. They have 2 good RB's. I think whoever wins this game goes to the SECCG to play Florida. I honestly did not have Alabama going 12-2 last season. I predicted 9-4. I also thought LSU would do better than what they did. But that's football, surprises occur every year.
