RBs coming out of the backfield uncovered is a blown assignment. We got better at it during the year, but Ole Piss scored on us the same way and I think it was in the Arkansas game that they had an RB wide open during a blitz but did not complete the pass, that was the play they showed Will Muschamp on and he was livid. I don't think anyone was able to do it again the rest of the year.
Hey, I'm only saying that in my opinion, had Hunt been in that game, LSU would not had as many blown coverages. I may be showing my stupidity here, but I feel like the secondary depended on Jack Hunt to hold them together.
Absolutely the secondary depended on Hunt. However, with our offense dead on arrival, I think the "D" played one heck of a game only to give up 19 points and with Hunt out. I don't remember JV playing against UF in that game. We got beat that is a fact. Why we were defeated is all opinions. I believe our tigers simply were not focused. I think it was the boy-crying wolf with Saban preaching and the team thinking yea sure and it caught up to us. Penalties and three fumbles and two of those were questionable. The team that wanted it more that day beat us. I think that was the best thing to happen to the team. It probably was the stepping stone to this great season.
Yeah, Carey got hurt the week before against MSU. Addai got hurt on his 10th carry early in the second half. Vincent finished the game. He only had a few carries, but I think it was because of his inexperience.
