Radall's a nice kid and all, but he will lead us nowhere. I hate to say it, but I pray that we start one of the younger QB's. Randall just doesn't have what it takes. He's a known commodity. Let's try someone else.
I have faith that Nick Saban is going to start the player who can best win games for the Tigers by the time the season starts whoever that player is. It could be any of those three players. I know this is worthy of discussion but I believe we will know more after the spring game.
Good point. Let's not forget that we have one of football's greatest talent evaluators making these decisions in Saban. The QB position will be in good hands.
Open competition brings out the best in players. I don't think a starter will be named until the fall. That being said, it sounds like Russell from everything I've heard (mostly from you guys). When is the Spring game and what's the biggest attendance we've ever had? I could see this one being the biggest.
red has it right. the starting job will be won in the spring. I say that all three are even right now.
It will be either Russell or Flynn. Both of them throw much better than Randall. Flynn also has the ability to run. I believe he ran a 4.55 his senior year in H.S.
I personally believe Russell will win the job. But, Saban will come out and say it is wide open with 3 QBs competing for the job. There is a good amount of time until Spring practice, and all 3 of these guys will be pushing the envelope for this job. Gonna be awesome to get the practice reports.
I agree with you...I think Russell is the better QB. But I still think Flynn has a good chance at the starting position. He already has mastered the offense and he can run. But I would love to have Russell play, it be like having Rohan back.
Flynn/Russell is Win/Win I had a chance to see Matt Flynn play in High School after he had committed to LSU. If Russell beats him out for the job we are in good shape.
The job is WIDE OPEN. Randall, Russell, and Flynn will go head-to-head-to-head in the spring for it. I fully expect a heated competition for the job and we may not have an announced starter until a week before the season opener. Also, the starter, when named, will probably be told that if he doesn't get the job done, he will be yanked in favor of someone who will. I am NOT in favor of just handing this job to Russell. I would want to see what all three are capable of before I make my decision, and I'm quite certain Coach Saban and Coach Fisher feel the same way.
