I knew I could count on you, so well versed in all sports. Robert Anae at BYU, and yeah, he did come through TTU. He is one intense dude.
3rd down % and red zone % is pretty remarkable. how old is this dude? problem is if Jimbo didnt coexist as well as he wanted with les, Im assuming les wants someone to call his plays rather than implement their new system. BYU's offense is still very impressive given all the big name coaches to go through there.
Good try, but not entirely accurate. CTT was at Miami from 86-93 and the canes won NC's in 87,89, and 91. He is mid 40's, a big ol Samoan. He played with Chow as a coach. I think Miles would like him. He is a very aggressive coach, Miles always liked to use the Woods brothers at Okie State, this would just be a +3 to what Miles likes.
Unless we're talking about a wide receivers coach or QB coach, no other coach at Texas Tech should even be considered for a job at LSU--let alone even mentioned. That offense is the poster boy for "one dimensional"--and that sort of thing just doesn't cut it in the SEC. Unless the OC from Texas Tech is simply complying with Leach's offensive philosophy and proves to Miles that he can adapt to a more balanced attack, then he can stay at Texas Tech. We can see if Boise State OC is interested for an interview. I know he turned 'Bama down, but I'd like to see if he just said no to Saban (given Saban's track record of moving jobs every 5 years) and is content at a place like Boise because he has job security like nobody's business (unless Miles can convience him that Miles is here for the really long haul). Finally, and I say this have serious, but how badly do you think Shula wants to stick it to 'Bama and Saban?? Shula was a former QB and has had some experience calling plays. Miles was an OC at Oklahoma State before taking over as head coach, so perhaps the combination of Shula and Miles isn't all that improbable. Remember, Shula didn't have the offensive personel at 'Bama so before you say their offense was terrible, just remember that Shula didn't have a whole lot to work with.
I'd like to see LSU promote Monken and hire a QB coach to take over Jimbo's duties on that. If that doesn't happen, either Major Applewhite, the Boise State OC or an NFL positions coach looking to make a name for himself.
I dont see Shula taking a step down to be an OC, at least not in college. Its not a knock on LSU, I just think he will hold out for a HC job or a job in the pros. Or at maybe sit out a year. Besides, he will be out after one year. Its not like he would be a long term OC that LSU will be looking for.
Wasn't Monken the passing game coordinator? If so, with the production we've had this year throwing the ball, he's certainly shown some value.
