Florida A&M was going to make the jump to 1A but had some problems getting it all the paperwork and stuff together with the NCAA. Well I guess this is what you get when you have to deal with the NCAA.
Dan didn't say 99% in trhe article in the advocate. He said he isn't going to say anything till he knows for sure the game is locked up as everytime he thinks or says something is doesn't work out. And I wonder where all of the rumors about Syracuse are coming from if he hasn't said anything, is it just because they have goles in their schedule also?
For some unknown reason, I cannot access ESPN.com this weekend, but I did read an article posted in Thursday's Houston Chronicle. WHY ON EARTH are people talking about this as being a "done deal"? If dropping UH is wholly dependent on LSU ALLOWING THEM to do so, I think the chances of LSU letting them make the switch is, oh, about zero percent. Why would LSU want to let them walk? SE Texas is important recruiting territory for LSU (it's not a coincidence LSU plays UH in all 3 major sports this year), so why switch a game versus an opponent from a natural LSU recriting base for one *Syracuse* where LSU gets no players at all? I say screw UH for trying to get out of this game at such a very late date. They'll just have to get their asses kicked in Baton Rouge instead of Norman this season.
No way in hell we schedule another PAC-10 team with Washington State. Syracuse seems most logical. Marshall is a good backup bet.
