I am an alum of University of Colorado at Denver, which is a satellite campus of CU Boulder. I lived in Colorado for 10 years. I was there when McCartney was at his height and they won a split title pre-BCS. McCartney was a great coach and a good man and had on his staff Les Miles, Gerry DiNardo, Gary Bennett, and Rick Neuheisel. McCartney founded 'Promise Keepers' and wore his Christianity on his sleeve while at the same time recruiting a lost of players that would be called thugs by most people. When he retired, I had hoped that the program would remain strong, but that was short lived. It'll be interesting to see how Mike MacIntyre does. I'd like to see the Buffs return to respectability.
I like the Oregon State Beavers. I like the school, the teams, the uniforms and pretty much everything they stand for, but most of all I like their nickname. One of these days I'm going to have to watch one of their games.
This. Since LSU became a football powerhouse, I only pull for teams that will benefit LSU's chances in some way. But I only have one team--and that's my Tigers.
Of course, he was joking. Everyone who's been on this board a while KNOWS he's a USC homer. I saw some folks mention Southern Miss. I guess I should pull for them; my dad played there in the early 60's, but even he pulls for LSU and never mentions USM.
Can't really say I have a second favorite. But, I do enjoy watching the Oregon Ducks. Also, while channel surfing on a Saturday in the fall, I'll watch any game that looks interesting. I did kind of like Arkansas until Petrino got there. He ruined that quick!
Ah, so that explains your username. I actually like the buffs, as well, mainly because I just love the state of Colorado. I seriously contemplated moving there ~7yrs ago (I'm a big snowboarder) but ultimately couldn't pull the trigger because I knew no one there. I love that backdrop to the stadium with that gogeous mountain top towering above. BYU's is similar. I also hung out with some Oregon St fans at some Irish bar on Decatur the night before we played them in '04, and they were cool as hell. Ever since then, I've always pulled for the Beavers.
I've told him this numerous times but he denies it till he's blue in the face...like he's fooling anyboy.
I don't really have one. I guess it would be Mizzou. I live outside of St Louis now so I see no harm in want them to improve. Besides they are in the SEC now so I get to see more SEC games now.
