The Ducks are sorta growing on me. @GiantDuckFan here has helped that and most of the Oregon fans I met in Dallas were class acts. Some of the unis still aren't quite my taste but I do like basketball on grass, as long as it's played out west.
@red55 I really like your style amigo. May not agree with you politically but damn I like your style. As for @lsutiga and @stevescookin you two tards can just pack your shit and move east. There is no room for no bama lovin scum in these parts. I thought I knew you two clowns better than that. I am thoroughly disappointed and save the piss poor excuses about grandma or whatever, shit just won't fly. Lucky I don't have the power to ban both your asses. Nevada Wolfpack. Too bad they wouldn't pony up the money to keep Chris Ault on board. They won't be near as fun to watch without him.
Hard for me to have a true #2 but it may be the University of Toledo as I went to high school near there and attended Toledo for one year. There's always other teams I like but I will always root for them. I remember them upsetting #9 Pitt at home around 2003 and the fans took the goal posts and dumped it in the creek on campus. Then there was beating Michigan in the Big House a couple years ago. Pretty solid team over the last decade, always has a great offense but terrible defense. I like Iowa State too, having lived in Ames, Iowa for 1 year but less memories there. There are other teams I generally root for but even sometimes I don't mind rooting for the underdog against them if it is a good enough game.
I haven't followed as much as before but they used to have some crazy games, mostly offensive shoot outs. They've sent a decent number of quality QBs to the NFL too. Plus, A lot of good coaches come from there. Pretty good for a league where the average football stadium holds around 30K
Nevada Wolfpack. When i was stationed on the USS Nevada (SSBN 733), we would get all kinds of neat stuff from the Navy League in Reno (some things were from the university). Hats, shirts, things to display on board. I also follow the Naval Academy.
I'm pretty sure @lsutiga was joking (at least I hope he was) about liking Bama and ND. I'd have to say Tulane is my 2nd favorite team (only b/c it's my alma mater), but I don't mind Oregon, USM or even State.
I was only there for 3 months....I came back home at Christmas to rebuidl/renew. Someone let us live in a townhouse that they had for rent at the time and it was in Mount Laurel in Chelsea. I couldn't believe it. They were so kind to do that. I used my food stamp money to buy food every day at WalMart on 280 that I would cook and sell for $6 a plate to all the businesses up and down 280. I was selling about 40-60 lunches per day. I'd start at 9:00am and finish by noon. One of my customers was a retired plastic surgeon and he wanted to be partners with me in a restaurant like Mandina's in Mount Laurel. there was no real neighborhood type restaurant there at the time and we would have been successful, but my family wanted to return to Covington, La and pick up the pieces. Now, I'm in New Orleans at Cafe Gentilly on Franklin ave.
My #2 would have to be the Iowa Hawkeyes, spent many Saturdays in Kinninck Stadium during high school through 2000 when I lived in Eastern Iowa. The UoI campus was about 35 miles or so from where we lived, and I played against a few UoI players during my high school football days... Tavian Banks and Tim Dwight to name a couple. I wasn't happy about LSU losing to UoI in '04 but if it had to happen, in my world who better.
