more credits for Nebraska to be THE Thug U http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2004/football/ncaa/01/08/bc.fbc.evridgeharassed.ap/index.html
Miami, hands down, although a few others are tied for a distant second to them. I have been a Cane hater for years. Cant wait to see KW jr get the F%&K knocked out of him in the NFL next year.
ant this out of Kansas State... Coach Snyder, instead of punishing El Roberson by making him sit out the bowl for a cerfuw violation and the sexual misconduct claim, has decided to strip Roberson of his spring scholarship and not give him a Big 12 championship ring. Good example K State.....let the kid play a game, but deprive him of an education. Bill Snyder should be fired for this crap.
After having read this thread for the first time, I have a few comments: Texas A & M getting consideration as "Thug U???" Are you kidding me??!!! The university of Texas is NOT "the" state school in Texas!!!! If we're basing this on the conduct of one player or alumnus, then I suppose, it's USC hands down. That was a brutal double murder perpetrated by the USC alum. Don't forget Baylor, as well, where the basketball player (allegedly) murdered his teammate last year. But, guys, most, if not all schools have had at least one or two players or alumni behave despicably - though, not to the extent of commiting murder. Yes, even our beloved LSU. Remember Cecil Collins? Also, who was that player who got caught snatching a purse a few years ago? Remember, our only Heisman winner served time for forgery. We've had players in the past get in ballroom brawls, and didn't current basketball player Jaime Lloreda give that program a black eye recently? Granted, under Nick Saban, LSU has had a pretty good image and behavior off the field, particularly the past couple of years. I am very proud of that - almost as much as I am proud of them winning the national championship. These are big, strong, young men with a healthy dose of testosterone that we're talking about. They are idolized and told how great they are. There is quite a bit of pressure on them. So, I would urge you to be careful about talking too disparagingly about other college programs.
not talking bad...well maybe I am, but I started this thread with the intention of current player/coach related activities, not alumni. I find it ironic that players can get away with so much. I find the K State item I posted today to be extremely upsetting, because it says to me that football comes before integrity and academics in college today...Bill Snyder, who I used to respect until this incident, needs to answer to everyone why he choose to jeopardize an athletes degree over a bowl game. that is frickin retarded IMO. By the way, I agree that the T-sips are not the University of Texas. Baylor was chartered in 1845 by THE REPUBLIC OF TEXAS (before Texas was a state)...that makes them #1 in Texas!
it is but it was chartered by the Republic of Texas...long story we can discuss one day (I am an alum of BU).
