My sentiments exactly. Spears and Williams kept the line solid despite the loss of Lavalais and made LSU the #3 defense in the country. Webster is another of my favorites and will make a fine pro defensive back, but he had kind of an off year.
Can the person who voted for LaRon Landry please state your reasons? Not that he's not a great player or that I'm knocking you. You're entitled to your opinion, but I'd just like to know what you saw in him that made him your defensive MVP.
Spears... No doubt about it. I'm actually a bit suprised there is any question as to the defensive MVP would be.
I voted Spears, but I could see how someone could vote Landry though, led the team in tackles and has 3 interceptions (although 2 of them came last week). In a season where missed tackles were plenty I think Laron was the most sure tackler on the team. He is an all-SEC performer in my book, but Spears is definetely the defensive MVP.
Ok. I see. Just so ya know, I wasn't knockin the guy who voted for him. Just wanted to know why and those are valid points. :thumb:
Co-defensive players of the year........ I voted for Jamarcus Russell and our bi-polar QB Marcus Randall(I like the Fla and Arky Randall). Without these guys our defense would have never been able to play so many snaps this year. Just kidding. I voted Spears but I think Landry has done an outstanding job the past 2 years at safety.
