1. Well, Arkansas is our "rival" because we actually play them for that plaque thing. We can't say that about anyone else. Although we used to be able to for Tulance.
  2. Leave it to good ol' Roy Kramer to try and fabricate a rivalry between LSU and Arkansas. The "Battle of the Boot"?? Arkansas likes it because at least they have something to play for every year. Even Arkansas thinks of Texas as more of a rival than LSU. The only constant is that the game is played on the f****** Friday after Thanksgiving thanks to CBS (the worst network ever).

I remember in 2003 when we beat them 55-24 and the LSU players just left the Boot in the south endzone. They didn't even care. And when ARK beat us in 2000 and 2002 they killed each other to get to it and hoisted it up. Whatever motivates you I guess.
  3. We have A LOT of rivals, which is good, b/c the teams who have wet dreams about playing one team often lose a game looking ahead to that game...

Football we are rivals with the next team on the schedule... This was pretty much adopted by Nick Saban, and is one of the things I liked the most about him...

Basketball, our rival is Kentucky... Anytime anyone is that dominant in a conference, they are the rival of every team who are trying to rip them from the top

Baseball it is Tulane, our in-state loser friends who field a decent team in this sport alone... Rick Jones' arrogance towards LSU I think also helps this rivalry...

So when we say we don't have "one rival," we really aren't dodging the question... we just have more than one! :)
  4. I always felt that Texas A & M is a rival--but we don't play them anymore, much like Arkansas and Texas don't play for a long time again.

    It's a shame.
  5. Everyone! Geaux Tigers!!
  6. Texas and Texas A&M are LSU's main recruiting rivals, especially for east Texas prospects, which is why they don't like to play us. It gives LSU too much visibility in Texas.

  8. Agree 100% Growing up in the northern part of Louisiana , i always had to hear a lot of smack from the couple arkansas fans around . I always loved playing the the day after thanksgiving . I am hoping LSU keeps THE BOOT in Baton Rouge for a long time!LSU! :geauxtige :champs: :bball: :crystal:  :tigbas: :eek:lefire:
  9. Mainly Ramah and Fighting Tiger

  10. Arkansas is not our Rival by any means, I used to HATE!! going to that game the day after Thanksgiving with TigerBand. I truly wish we could play Texas A&M or anyone else for that matter. The only time the Boot trophy has meant any significance with LSU was in 1999 when we won that last game with Morris Watts at the helm to finish 3-8.:sob:

LSU-Ole Miss, LSU-Auburn, that's at least my opinion from being in TigerBand from 1999-2003.
