I guess I didn't realize Magee was north of 200 lbs. I knew he was 5-9, but I was thinking he was somewhere in the 180 range.

I remember him taking a pass against U-high and taking it to the house.

So if you went to high school with him, you also went with to school with Todds wife, Brett Bech's wife, my godchild and another girl named Danyelle. Small world.

looks like 6-4/190 WR Quantavius Leslie has qualified
    --#1 JUCO WR by Scout
    --#3 JUCO WR by Rivals
--#6 JUCO WR by 247 (#1 in SEC)
    --#9 JUCO WR by ESPN

    Quantavius Leslie

Happy is an understatement for how I'm feeling right now. Found out I passed my college algebra class. #lsubound #thankgod

comments on Quantavius from Tiger fans:

--by mid season he'll be considered one of the best receivers in the nation. He's that good.

--Definitely feel he could have a big impact this year!

--could be the big playmaking WR that we need

    --he'll more than likely be a one-and-done

--Can't wait to see this kid ball

--I have high hopes for Leslie

--I can't wait to have a big fast WR to run downfield though!

--Can't wait to see this kid in action

--He's got the size and speed to make an immediate impact. He's 6'4" and D-Byrd fast. He can get behind the defense in a flash and he's a tall target in the end zone.

--Mett is gonna like throwing to this guy

--6'4 and runs under a 4.5. Him and Dural will be catching all of the deep balls this year.

--After being the first WR at LSU with a 1000yds in a season since 2003 and the first WR with double digit TDs since 2009, I hope he stays for his next season.

--Him being a starter this season will pay huge dividends.

    --Leslie will be a stud

--We are going to "bring the pain" to the defenses this year.

He'll have to track down who said that and paste their reply.

I don't think it really matters who the starters are at WR. We look to be stacked at the position with the luxury of rotating in fresh horses. They'll all get playing time with none of them putting up insane numbers.

last year, 187-lb OBJ was the only person who started as the Z

    at X, it was 207-lb Kadron Boone (7 starts), 203-lb James Wright (4), 195-lb Jarvis Landry (1)

as you can see, the way we did it last year was we put our heaviest guys at the X (split-end), because the X always has to line up on the line of scrimmage, and has to be able beat jams (and be able to block well because he's in a good position to block his man). meanwhile, we put our lightest guy at Z (flanker), because the Z lines up back off the line of scrimmage (to keep the Y/TE or flex receiver between him and the line eligible), and by being lined up back off the line, it's easier for you to beat jams with that extra space between you and your man ... in addition to how you can be sent in motion as the Z (this is why lighter receivers are often flankers)

Quantavious is listed at 190 lbs, and his high school scouting report by Scout.com lists "Ability To Beat Jams" as a weakness, so if we did it like we did last year, i wouldn't expect to see him at the X... but instead as the Z, or the H/slot receiver or the Y/F receiver

but who knows, maybe Quantavious has gotten better with his hands at beating the press and is good at that now. i have no idea how good he is at it. and, i have no idea what Cam likes to do with his receivers, different coaches are different

IMO Landry is our best WR to this point. He came on strong last year.

Speaking of C, this is what Mike Detillier said:

"I would say Elliott Porter (is the biggest ? on the OL). Elliott plays a position that has to make all the calls and adjustments. He is the QB of that unit. I like what I have seen from him athletically and from a physical standpoint, and you have to be very sharp mentally to get that group to work as one. P.J. Lonergan and T-Bob (Hebert) did that for the past three to four years and so Elliott becomes the main focus."

Coming in late to the discussion, but Contained Chaos hit the 2 on the head for me. Debo Jones is going to be a force. With the suspension of Hill, Magee will open some eyes, especially on swing passes where his receiving skills will be invaluable.
