I trust him absolutely and completely. He's been here long enough and more than proven that any decision he makes is for the well being of LSU. Plus, I like the fact that he was a very successful coach. Because of this, he knows what qualities the new head coach must posess to keep LSU consistantly improving and he will have a good feel for whether a coach is right or not for LSU. Skip is da man!
I have enough faith in the man to think he can pick the right man. If not him, then who? Me? Crawfish? SabanFan? I am sure we could scrumble up a few candidates
My concern is with those meddling BOS members. They lost some power when Emmert was here, now we'll see if they try to get some of it back.
I think Skip was kind of firing a warning shot across the bow of the BoS when he told the media he would have imput from several people but that he had the final say on the coaching decision. And he's been hear long enough and is so firmly entrenched as the "Man" in LSU athletics that he has the power to hire who feels will be the best candidate.
I think Skip knows the difference between a coach who can "turn things around" and scrap, from those that can maximize talent at the highest level and win when everyone's gunning for you. We need the latter. There are different kinds of coaches, just like there are different kinds of managers.
