I'm with you on this. We're in a 2 horse race for a few recruits with UF and if I thought the NC game would push them more to us I'd say OSU but the reality is that it likely won't matter. UF can hold its own win or lose, same goes for LSU. In this one I'll be rooting for the SEC. If we were talking Auburn, Ole Miss, or Bama that'd be a different story.

Great Post! If your rooting for Ohio State in this game and you have felt that the SEC gets no respect from ESPN or other media then your a MORON. If Florida wins the NC, its only going to help the SEC. Its not going to hurt LSU recruiting. I live in the Northeast and get into arguments daily on why I think the SEC is the best conference in the country. If you think Michigan should have played in the game, then go look at their schedule. They played 2 (ND&WISC) decent teams and one good team(OHIOST). They lost to the good team. They would have had atleast 2 losses and maybe 3 if they played an SEC schedule. I dont like Florida but I hope they beat the crap out of OHIO ST. I hope every SEC team wins their bowl game(even Fat Fulmer). It would just make the SEC look better. It would make LSU look better. Most importantly it would make Kirk Herbstreit look like an IDIOT.

This sentiment is misguided. OSU being the best team in the country, and the SEC being the best conference in the country are not the same concept. And it looks like the pollsters figured that out, given Wisconsin.

The "nobody respects us enough" whining is silly and normally misguided anyway.

How do you know Ohio State is the best team in the country. Their schedule has not proven to me that they are. Do I think that they are good? Yes, very good but when you have only one shot at losing a game all year during the regular season(MICH) I cant say that they are the best team in the country. If we had the playoff in the place this year, I would bet that Ohio St would not win it only because they have not been tested week after week like teams in the SEC. Maybe I feel more strongly about this subject since you live in Houston and I have to put up with this Big10 crap year round.

That's VERY true. A few of my best CFB buddies are all ND or Big 10, but they at least recognize that the SEC is the premier conference.

I'm probably similarly sensitive with Big XII stuff. A playoff does have its merits, but OSU has looked much better than just about every team out there.
