Well said. For you wiggers that tried to hijack my post w/EZE lyrics you need to let it go. NWA was kool in 1988 but it's all about EZE Jr. soon to hit the streets w/his first CD this summer. I think he is son #2 of 9 and he aint got no jerry curl. Anyhow that’s why I like Flynn. If the WR's can’t get open he is going to tuck the ball and run for a first. He seems like the type of guy that wont go back to a receiver if he drops a pass right in the breadbasket. If the WR's aren’t open for Russell he is going to throw the ball in the stands or take a sack. I personally like the way Russell throws the ball but something tells me that he wont bounce back from this injury to overtake Flynn and if he is not careful he will drop to third string. IM rooting for the big guy b/c I think he will make a nice NFL qb one day. Like I said b/4 the only reason he started last year was because he had more pt then anyone else on the team but now that Flynn has shown what he can do WATCH OUT!
I also want whoever the coacing staff thinks will be the best player for the team, that goes for any other position too. :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige
For the Flynn lovers: You guys assume the offense looked better in the Peach Bowl simply because Flynn was in the game... Did Flynn manage to conjur up that amazing running attack as well? What about the offensive line dominating Miami - all Flynn's work, eh? It should be noted, Flynn completed 13 passes in the Peach Bowl. Thirteen. The whole game. The rest of the offense did most of the work. Russell could have done a similar job in the same situation. I don't get why people feel we need a QB that can run. Many great QBs can't, yet people feel like an offense can't succeed without it... The QB race will be open, and should be very interesting. It will come down to who manages the offense better. Who cares that Russell can throw 100 yards off his back foot. He needs to work on his accuracy, staring down receivers & leading them into getting their clocks cleaned. They perform better for Flynn. Nobody knows how well Perrilloux can run the offense at this point, but I think he will very much be involved in the QB race. The chances of him taking over the starting position are pretty slim. Russell is having surgery & will be recovering for a while + Flynn is riding high after the Peach Bowl, which gives Flynn some advantages in the race. I think Russell will win the starting position. BUT, if Flynn can manage the offense just as effectively as Russell (which I don't think is a given right now) then I would prefer him get the starting nod.
I saw LSU win 11 games last season. I saw JaMarcus struggle all year and the team manage to pull most of the games out. I saw many LSU fans scream and panic and grasp their chests from what seemed like heart pain everytime JR would make a stupid throw. I also saw a QB that started the Peach bowl and run the offense VERY effectively, running 7-8 STRAIGHT offensive scoring drives. I think LSU needs to to play the QB that puts them in the best position to win. I just think that QB, from what ive seen, is Matt Flynn.
My sentiments exactly. Be thankful that we have 3 such caliber quarterbacks to choose from. Other colleges would give their right arm to have this problem. Whoever they choose will undoubtedly be the best choice for the team....that's what the coaches get paid to do..make the final decision. I understand where you're coming from, nothing wrong with a little competition....may the best man win!
