Taxes are a symptom of a problem. It's called SPENDING. The more the govt. takes in the more it spends. STOP SPENDING. fack.
You see, now we are getting somewhere. Taxes in no way can be the only fix. As to why I asked YOU what Obama’s plan was. Where will he make cuts?
A major problem is that most people are stuck in the cycle of big federal government. We don't need all these federal programs and there is a fundamental disagreement between democrats like yourself and the more conservative republicans. Unfortunately, a ton of republicans also want to spend a bunch of my money on things I don't want it spent on and in this convoluted system really have little say on. Clinton was riding the positive side of bubbles in the economy, which started collapsing at the end of Bush's stay in DC. Foreign countries are becoming stronger relative to the US due to technology and poor political philosophy and climate in the US, a straying from the principles of our founders.
The decline of the manufacturing base in the US will be the ruin of us. The transfer of wealth because buying overseas oil will bankrupt us.
incorrect and any effort we make to save the manufacturing industry here will be wildly destructive to everyone involved. we will be fine with the sorts of jobs we have. it doesnt matter if our jobs are on a factory floor or in front of a computer.
I am not and have never been a democrat. There is federal spending to be cut. There is more that must be paid for. It is foolish to cut income before cutting spending. It is also foolish for the political parties to insist on cutting the other party's pet projects and preserving their own. It is even worse that they try to get very controversial programs dropped or passed even though the country is very divided over them. Things like privatizing social security or planned parenthood funding. Why can't they focus on the things that almost everyone can agree upon. Medicare must be changed or it will fail. Why stall? Make the changes and move on. And the republicans cannot refuse to consider raising taxes, especially when our GDP is at an all-time high and our taxation rates are at a post-WWII low. You can't get something for nothing. We still need an army and national parks and highways and airports and thousands of legitimate government agencies meeting the needs of a superpower. It is not 1776 anymore. Giant nations need sizable governments and there is a critical mass that we cannot go below and remain effective. Examples?
You apparently don't read much about unemployment either. We need well-paying blue-collar jobs or the country is in trouble. As a national interest we must protect our vital industries, other countries do.
again, protectionism is a sure way to destroy people. protect a particular industry and watch people starve.
