I know it's mean and very unchristian like but it's like this. As long as it's not us starving so f'in what. If someone has to succeed and someone fail, if someone has to starve so others can eat, it should be us. America first! I would rather see a thousands chinese or Arabs starve than one single American family. Call it the law of the jungle or natural selection or whatever.
the middle class in america's future will work in offices, not in factories, it doesnt make much difference. economies change.
There are plenty of folks in the US who would benefit from manufacturing jobs and if we specialize too much we are susceptible to catastrophic collapse should things go south. Diversity isn't just a river in Africa.
Except that when the government gets money it starts burning a hole in congress' pocket and they want to spend it. You can't count on our government right now to spend our money wisely to reduce debt. Especially with Obama's philosophy on the roll of the government. I don't disagree. I'm not crazy about privatizing government services. Many of these services are too big or important to fail and when push comes to shove, the public will bail them out. Not to mention the continued need and increasing inability to regulate privately run governmental services. Everytime I hear a republican say raising taxes is off the table I think this, but then I think back to my lack of confidence in the government to actually spend new taxes on paying off debt. We do need a national defense and I think most people would be willing to contribute to national parks. Transportation may be something people are willing to pay for at a national level, but I think a lot more of that could be spent at the state level. There is definitely a role for a federal government, but I think it could be drastically reduced and really needs to be. We are feeling the pains that come from a bloated federal government due to inefficiency, partisanship, pandering, and deceit. Interventionist foreign policy, the limits of central planning, misguided economic policies...
