4 words Windfall Oil Profit Tax... pushed through by legislation by Palin, to increase the state spending budget and rebate checks to the residents of Alaska... I'll wait for your spin:grin:
I really don't understand this statement at all.. Everyone had a chance to make a change. I'm willing to bet you and most other "conservatives" voted for more of the same. At some point acting on your rhetoric means something.
No spin. Since I don't obsess about her, I hadn't heard of it. So I had to look it up. And if you were correct, I'd be happy to call a spade a spade. Generally, I'm not a fan of taxing companies or industries just because they're making money. While I don't agree with this at all, it clearly falls well short of Socialism. Appears to me these rebate checks are more an issue of keeping part of the resource wealth of a particular state inside that state (and thereby boosting the economy of the state itself) rather than redistribution of wealth from wealthy Alaskans to poorer Alaskans. Every Alaskan got the same exact check. Nice try, though. By the way. I lived in Alaska for three years. I'm still technically a resident there. That state has a Socialist undercurrent fueled largely by the largesse of the state and funded by the energy resources there. You know what those checks go to? Vacations to warmer climates, snow machines, and paying off the credit card liquor bills. :hihi:
lol, no spin at all huh......:hihi: its socialism, redistribution isn't the only form of it, ya know. the residents dont own oil fields and reserves but they are getting benefits from taxing a corporation. Thats redistribution from someone else's hard work..thats a conservative no no, I thought.
Hey - I've got no problem with calling it what it is. I just don't see the link. But if you do, then let's call the tax (and hell, let's call her) Socialist.
The hypocrisy in it is, the right almost wanted to string Hillary up for mentioning a windfall profit tax on oil companies. See the link now?
I hate to break it to you, but Ron Paul is more of the same. Adding earmarks to legislation and then voting against the legislation because it has earmarks is not the same as opposing earmarks.
And who opposes earmarks? If we didn't earmark it we wouldn't know what the F they are spending the money on that is going to get spent anyway... This is why he earmarks it and then votes down the spending. I think you might need to read a bit more about earmarks.
Seriously. Why do you imagine this? Smart enough for mayor of Wasila, Alaska didn't appear to be smart enough to be governor, much less President. I know. Nobody does.
And why do you imagine this? You haven't seen enough of her to make that judgement. You certainly are entitled to your opinion, but assuming she is not smart is pretty stupid. I'm sure she'd be real impressed with your accomplishments. Beat Sourdoughman in a TF debate? That's something right there.
