    he is hopelessly liberal.

healthcare reform, cap and trade, and more stimulus, are of course, as you say, tremendously damaging to people, not only here but everywhere. and i think this reveals the inherent selfishness of liberalism. better to feel like part of the solution than to really examine honestly the results of your policies.

How, then, do you justify these massive spending proposals in light of the burgeoning deficit, unsustainable debt and no money in the American bank?

You cannot be so naive as to believe that a 5% tax on "the rich" and cuts in medicare will somehow solve the money problem.

Would you like me to send you a personalized copy of Mike Huckabee's book to read while offline?

Don't you pay attention. When Bush ran up the deficit it was bad because (he is a Republican.) it accellerated the debt and squandered surpluses.

When Obama runs up the deficit at a pace that makes Bush look like a conservative it is good because (he is a Democrat.) it is necessary to save the economy from complete collapse.

I don't justify massive spending proposals on health care, I just realize that the present system is unsustainable and that the matter must be addressed. How did you justify Bush's Trillion dollar health care plan? You didn't, did you? Well, I don't either.

But I do know this . . . you don't get something for nothing.

As far as massive spending to bail out the banks and stimulate the recession economy, that was a bi-partisan effort and you know it. That was spending that was nedded to prevent the collapse of the economy and it has worked, too. Every rich country on earth did the same thing to preserve the economic systems and we would have been fools not to.

No, I don't justify spending for spendings sake. Obama is to the left of me on that. It's why I supported Hillary. The Bill Clinton style of moderate democrat was running surpluses and paying down the debt. That's the kind of spending that I want to see . . . balance between income and spending.

The Democrats only want to tax and spend. The Republicans are worse and only want to borrow and spend. We need more pragmatic moderates in charge.

We are broke. We have no money to spend. The worthiness of the program is irrelevant. We must learn to say NO. It's not a partisan thing, it's a practical thing.

I could agree with this if you really believed it. But you only say NO to democrats and never to some pretty lousy Republican spending policies that have happened.

At least the Dems are trying to pay for spending with taxes. The GOP added huge spending while at the same time irresponsibly cut the income and borrowed money to pay for everything. We can't go back to that.

And we aren't as broke as you suggest. We are economically better off than most countries.

Stop living in the past Red. I'm in the here and now. You sound like Pelosi.

The Dems are going to tax $500,000 and $1,000,000 incomes. Even if they sat there and took it (which they won't) it will not generate the money needed to pay for Obama's wish list.

And yes, we are as broke as I suggest. Have you checked out the deficit and the national debt lately? What comes after trillion?

And, I don't give a crap whether Bush or Reagan or phucking Nixon got us where we are. The fact is that we are where we are and Obama will bankrupt America if he doesn't put a stop to it.
