I do and quite often. There, a round of negative points for everyone who posted in the thread. Except for salty cause it won't let me give him any rep yet.
Not using red rep points defeats the whole purpose of the rep system. This isn't some suck off contest to see who can give the most green. It's meant for people to express how they feel about your post. If it sucks, give it red. Sure, some guys like to jump on it but the better question is, what kind of guy gets insulted by it? I think it's funny when I get it - it's nothing personal, they just don't agree with me or think my post is stupid.

I give them out sometimes to either posts I really don't like, disagree with, or just think its quite stupid. I used to get mad but now don't care. It is just a negative rep. Some people get so damn pissed...it is as if you kicked their dog and spit on them
i got angry when I was just trying to build a name for myself ya know? Because it is like 1-2 good posts, then BAM you are right back down to nothing, but now that I am al ittle more seasoned, it is just an everyday thing I guess
I still think though that there are a good amount of people who get angry at it even though they say they don't. If someone gives it to me and I don't feel I deserve it, I usually just give them a neg rep back. Not a huge deal.
yeah... i understand... the way I look at it is that it is a sports forum where we can respectfully agree and disagree... I love it for what it is... I am not the best, I am not the most intelligent, so I do expect to get one my way here or there, because people will not always agree with me... Anywho... if it bothers them so much, I sure dont' see them stop using the site
