quoted by Sabanfan: Here's a novel thought. Ole Miss played a great defensive game. And I guess our offense played a good game....... We didn't help them any? Gimme a break
What's up with that turf? Was that the new Astro Play? WIth all the Old money in Oxford, can't they put down some real grass? I saw several LSU players slip, but not any Ole Miss players. Seems to me we could have changed spikes or something. Guess that's where Coach Boss made all the difference in the world.
I agree with you guys, it wasn't Maucks fault totally.. The playcalling wasn't very good if you ask me
Scoreboard. In the final analysis that's all that counts. For once, the fact that margin of victory is a non factor works in our favor. We beat the 15th ranked team in the country. It's all good. If your happiness is based upon how badly we beat Ole Miss, that is a personal problem.
SabanFan, I give Ole Miss a hell of alot of defensive credit. I can assure you there are plenty of Tigers out there who were starting to feel a little desperate about the way the offense was going at the start of the 4th. Putting MR in for a few series may have done Matt some good, who knows? The pressure seemed to be getting the best of him tonight. Im not one of the fans ready to concede the season either.
Sabanfan I don't have any problem with the scoreboard. It's not like our offense had the ball more than our last 2 opponents did in the second half. I give Ole Miss credit, they played a hell of a game... But I give LSU's offense credit for 7 points and making 2 many mistakes... Thank God we didn't play Georgia Tonite because we would've Lost
I was hollaring at mauck and screaming but i believe like was said. You dance with the guy who brung ya. Matt i love ya baby but sure wish our offense had played better. Win or lose Matt your our man. Doesnt mean i dont think you should learn from a few mistakes made. Jimbo Fisher should go back to last year and look at what he did for Josh Reed. We have that in clayton but we seem to forget the short pass screen and throwing to our backs and i dont mean the basic screen. I mean use them across the middle and curling out of the backfield to help with some of the blitzes. Ole miss sure used it to perfection for their touchdown. Geaux Tigers
Mauck played about the same vs Georgia and I wasn't ready to bench him. He made the play that made the difference. I still remember last year. Good defenses make good quarterbacks appear just average. Eli is probably the best in the SEC and he didn't look so great either.
