Which mini helmet do you prefer? Schutt vs. Riddell

Finally, someone with my problem!

I wear a 7 3/4 myself. I'm like you guys, I have a hard time finding hats to fit my huge cranium, Hats that fit on most people look like yarmulka on me. I hate thos one size fits all hats too...

 

I agree, those are rather unsightly helmets.

 

Don' buy a helmet from a gift shop, they jack up the price. You can get one cheaper online. I saw one at "Tyger Gifts" for FRIGGIN $225.00 (rip off!!!). Go online and type in a search for full sized LSU helmets.

 

I almost never wear a hat unless I am fishing to keep the sun off my head but you can buy an adjustable baseball type cap almost anywhere.

I have a few knitted skull caps for whenever I'm outdoors in really cold weather. It doesen't get that cold around here too much.

P.S. Size 8 fitted caps are a BITCH to find...

....and none of those goofy ones with the plastic hole/pin work for me..

 

The Favorite - BUCKETHEAD!

When I was 8, I was a SKINNY/tallish running back on my pee wee football team. Although I didn't have an ounce of fat on me, I barely made weight. It was a fight every week. I used to have to go run laps before the game with the fat kids. I swore that my head size led to my weight "problems".

When we went to go get fitted for helmets, none of the 7-8 old helmets fit me, so I had to try on the helmets of the 9-10 y.o. None of them fit, so I tried on the 11-12 y.o. I could have worn one, but it was a little tight. I wound up wearing a 13-14 y.o. helmet. It was pretty cool, though, because they had the nicer "suspension" helmets with the pro style facemasks.

My dad took some of the old 8mm films of our games. I got the ball most of the time, and, whenever I went into the line, all you would see is this gigantic head sticking out over the crowd of little kids.

 

There is a great, wonderfully bizarre guitarist that goes by "Buckethead"...

...he wears an oriental mask so no one knows his real identity...

...but this is literally the topper...

...he wears a KFC bucket on his head!

...hence, the name...

IMO....I like that....Maybe just wear it once or twice a year like we do the purple. I just thinkg we should change it up a little bit. But my all-time favorite is the white jerseys with gold helmet.

 

I just received both the Schutt and the Riddell mini helmets in the mail today, and after closely examining both of them from every angle, I would have to say the Schutt helmet is my favorite. I'm waiting on the white one that I ordered on ebay. That one should be nice.
