The redshirt freshmen from last year's #1-ranked recruiting class are extremely talented and have a year in the system. That's a big head start. The freshmen that get on the field this year may mostly be from last years recruiting class. As good as they are, many of these new freshmen will benefit from a redshirt year. Why waste a year of eligibility as a backup special teams player? It's also good for LSU to stagger the talent at some positions by redshirting. Still, a player like Carter with trackster speed will likely be tried at WR and kickoff return. The 5-star JC transfers are expected to challenge for immediate playing time, I would imagine.
Big Herm says he will not be redshirting.. that's what he told the local newspaper the morning he committed to LSU. Said the LSU coaches told him he would have an opportunity to compete for the STARTING right tackle position his true frosh year.
Hey, the dude made a mistake. He could have shrugged it off with an "oops, sorry 'bout that", and it's no big deal. But no, he had to go and be a smartass about it. I'm just responding in kind. And no, I'm not joking. If you're going to post it, take responsibilty for it.
Twisted was merely talking about LSU football and who would contribute. We all knew what he meant and if someone didn't ,who gives a shit. It's just a friendly LSU discussion board...
Dallas, remember what my mother told you, "Never get into a battle of wits with an unarmed person!" He sounds like a lurker from an OU board. GEAUX TIGERS!!! :geaux: :helmet: :lsug: :helmet: :geaux:
