Rep points for you. I never get tired of watching old Gorilla ball clips. I just wish the Morris homerun had Henderson's call instead of Shawn McDonnah's (sp?)

I was watching at my parents' house in Baton Rouge. It stinks to be in Texas now, and not being able to enjoy watching LSU sporting events with them.

in a buddy's living room in mandeville. we were home for the summer at that point (junior year) and there were 7 of us. we were all on our feet when morris came up clinging to the hope that maybe he'd get on base. when he hit it, one guy tackled another and the rest of us dogpiled on him. it wasn't as gay as it sounds. :hihi:

i didn't hear the hawthorne call until a year later. i know a lot of people knock him but that remains one of my favorite radio calls of all time. (along with "akim dropped the ball...")

Warren and I were roomates that year, we lived in a duplex off of Brightside. I had gone back home to Alexandria for the summer and was working as a bartender. I was stocking the bar before we opened and watching the game. When he came up to bat I was standing in the doorway and when he hit the homer I jumped straight up, hit the top of the door jam and knocked myself out cold. About 10 minutes later my boss found me out cold on the floor.

Later that year he was playing with team USA and they were playing Cuba in Miami the fans there booed Warren every time he took the field or came up to bat.

Nothing special. Watching at home in BR, at the time.

Amen to that. But if things go as planned, I may be back in the great state shortly.

when the team came home my family went to pick up our friend who at the time was an administrator with the team. he was carrying the bat home to be enshrined in lsu's vault or whatever. i laid my hand upon the legendary bat. it touched my soul.
