I was in the stands, disgusted. I remember stading with my arms folded, all of us saying "I can't believe we made this trip to watch us lose to Kentucky." The guys in the row in front of us left after Kentucky took the lead. I'm not sure if they were already out of the stadium by the time of the play or not. It was a pretty surreal feeling, but the high didn't last that long. You're not supposed to have to beat Kentucky on miracle plays.
I'm not sure because I didn't get into football until the year after. Now I love football and wish I did watch it when it happened
I was at my brothers house with about 8 other lsu fans. When we came out for the last "drive", the camera zoomed in on Randall...My cousin asked "Can he do it?" I said "NO." The play happened, we couldn't believe it. Everyone was up and jumping. I was last in the air because I had played 3 softball games the night before (my team scored 70+ runs in those 3 games) and I was sore as hell! By the time I got up to jump with them, they had stopped to look to see if it was real. It was. Then we all agreed we should not need a miracle to beat Kentucky.
Never good enough for some fans. :hihi: Quarterback just did something "Impossible" according to you- You'd just said he couldn't do it, then you downplay an SEC "W" on the road? :hihi: :thumb:
I watched at my parents house with friends and family. I specifically remember after the first completion somebody left the living room for the kitchen somewhat perterbed (though there was a T.V. in the kitchen as well). But, as soon as Devery stepped across the end zone, he came running back into the living room yelling and we did usual stupid crowd celebrations...it was awesome. While we shouldnt have to beat KU (in football) like that, a heart throbbing, last second win is always as amazing as it sounds. Especially the way it happened with Randall having an arm strength rating of roughly 12, hurling the ball those 40 yards just for it to look like an incompletion and an embarassing loss...then your fastest reciever just so happens to be in just the right spot at just the right time to make the catch? While arguably "uneccessary" to beat Kentucky, it is a completely inarguably awesome thing to watch, especially with the expressions the fans had on their faces once they realized what happened, after that 1 second of celebration 1 second of a dismayed silence the the ensueing celebration by our boys.
I was in Commonwealth Stadium in that endzone looking around in total disbelief. My buddy and I thought for sure there would be a flag but when none appeared, all the LSU fans erupted. I wasn't sitting that far from the guy in the cow costume. PS. The guy in the cow costume was on the front page of the sports section of the Lexington Newspaper. I still have a copy of the newspaper.
