I dont see any real stand-out team in the SEC. I think most all the teams in the west side , besides Miss ST is hoping for improved QB play. On the east side there are 2 or 3 teams with returning experienced QB's. Wondering if SEC teams will take each other out during the year and we get no teams in the final 4. I surely hope not . I think the tigers could surprise in the west and have a great year....Geaux tigers....
LSU could be great or extremely average. Most depends on QB play, surprise surprise. I think the next big question mark is the experience at DE, which is just about zero. Depth doesn't concern me at any position, LSU has better talent on the 2 deep than 90% of the teams in the country. The slow start at OL last year has me wondering how quick they'll gel this season. With a new OL coach\scheme last year I'm unsure how big of a part that played, but that group needs a better start to improve on last seasons record. MY GOD, WILL WE EVER INCLUDE THE TE IN THE PASSING GAME? If I knew for sure the answer was yes I would move them up 2-3 spots on that information alone. I think given the limited information we have a preseason ranking of #15 is fair. But as most of us know, they could be much better or much worse.
This has been debated over and over. At times Miles really really pisses me off and I get on his ass, anonymously on line of course. But as I've posted repeatedly , Miles does many many things at an extremely successful level. The list of coaches I'd trade him for is very short. That doesn't meat I don't want to kick him in the nuts when he tells the QB to clock it as time runs out in the game. That doesn't mean I don't want to choke him out when he runs the ball into a 9 man front for the 100th time of the game. That doesn't mean I'm not screaming at the tv begging him to THROW THE BALL TO THE FUCKING TE! But to say there is a large group that thinks Miles should be replaced is stretching things to say the least. I've been accused of being a negaTiger no less than a million times, but I call em like I see em period. Unless you're calling a choir a handful of morons, you might want to rethink your numbers. Now I might be singing like a parakeet halfway through this season if LSU again fails at fielding a competent QB AGAIN, but as of now the choir is fairly small and not really listened to by the more mentally stable church members.
Sorry guys, I hurt my back and forgot I even posted this. Enjoying the responses now though. Les has a want to be faithful to his wife, I'm sure.
That's certainly something people pay a lot of attention to, but then you have teams without QBs like Florida St. and Alabama, but I guess the whole "national title in the last 7 years" thing helps.
I know some Florida fans and Ole Miss fans, for instance, who feel differently. Alabama fans felt that way until about 3 years and 8 months ago. Auburn fans told me Les was the luckiest man in America in 2007.
