So is this list supposed to take into account the coaches entire carrer? If so then how do you not have Bobby Bowden in the top ten? Or is it just looking at the coaches recent sucesses? If so then why is Suprrier 21?
Welcome CrimsonKid! We enjoy a good discussion with rival fans. This is not just a college kids rant site. We have many college students who post here, and I'm proud to say they are more astute than on an average board. We're all across the age spectrum, but all good fans of college football.
I'm surprised that Joe Glenn of Wyoming didn't make this list. and what about Charlie Weiss... Whazzup with him? Relax, Tongue in cheek!
Right now, I wouldn’t want to trade Coach Miles for any other coach, but let’s face it, last year, except for the bowl game that salvaged our season, was BAD. I had hoped that last year would remove any doubt that Miles is a top coach, but last year simple made for more doubt. Tiger fans think that we understand last year’s problems, better than the rest of the football world and we’re optimistic that the problems (Co-DCs & QBs) have been resolved. Most of us give Coach Miles high marks for the way the changes he made, but still, Miles was responsible for the Co-DCs and could have recruited at least one more quarter back three years ago so we would not have needed to rely on a walk-on. If 2009 is a great year, then Coach Miles will get the credit, just as he got the blame for last year. With a great 2009 season, we can argue that one of Coach Miles top assets is being able to recognize serious problems, be responsible and implement necessary changes without burning bridges. Here’s to a great 2009 season.
Thank you! I wanted to check out a rival teams forum. So far, so good. I like to discuss football with people who have a different view of the game.
With Miles as the head coach for his 4th or 5th season (I'm not too sure) and LSU with a stable QB, I would watch out for LSU. People say Ole Miss is the team to beat in the West and I can understand that. But I say the West comes down to LSU and Alabama this year. Miles has recruited very well (#1 on Scout) and had a top 10 class in '08. Nick Saban has recruited very well alongside Les Miles. So it should be a close one this year if both defenses step up.
