Flynn has been as accurate in practice, if not more, than the other two quarterbacks. He is just not as flashy as a Russell and is not a great runner like a Randall. I bet he could sit in the pocket and hit short passes all day long though.

Disagree. I want to see Flynn on the field before I put Russell way ahead of him

from what I saw, it wouldn't take much for Flynn to be better than either one of the other two. From the posts I see in here, you'd think JR performed like Dan marino or Brett Farve. Some folks had him drafted already on the basis of what they "saw" I'd kind of like to see it first, they may be right but hey it ain't happened yet. I'd put Flynn in definately.

Are you an idiot? Have you seen Flynn play in a game yet? I didn't think so. Saban has said that the two are neck and neck, and both are very good. Russell is said to have the better arm and be a more flashy passer, but Flynn is also a very good passer, is more mobile, and was said to pick up the offense much faster. You can't write off Flynn just because of the hype that surrounded Russell coming out of high school. And you can't just assume that because Russell had a great high school career that he is a "rising superstar". Maybe he is, but you have a poorly played second half of a first game to base that on. And you have nothing to support your argument that Flynn isn't as good, or even better. So shut it.

I hope Flynn gets to play this week, let's see what he has. He may be better than Randall.

Flynn should stand really close to Saban with the clipboard and call in the plays to both Randall and Russell....

It's way too early to make a judgement on Matt Flynn. Jamarcus Russell and Flynn were neck and neck most of the Spring and Fall. I think Saban would like to get him some work next week. Next year all we will have at QB is Russell and Flynn (not counting walkons and new recruits). All top programs have at least two good QBs. We need Flynn on the team, and I hope he doesn't get discouraged and decide to transfer. I don't expect that to happen, because that would guarantee he'd have to sit out a year.

Two drives, a superstar does not make. I can think of 2 Tiger QBs in the last five years that shown flashes of brilliance and stunk it up. Booty and Randall. Randall can still redeem himself in my book. Russell wasn't terribly consistant, and both he and Randall suffered from horrible reciever play. I am not sold on Russell as the savior of LSU football.

I hope all three of our guys play and play well next saturday.

I am surprised some fans are starting to write Flynn off already. Flynn reportedly knew the playbook better than Russell earlier on. Aside from physicall skills, I believe a big part of the QB play is mental, both in terms of smartness and mental toughness. Just look at Joe Montana. I am far from writing Flynn off. It will be very interesting as to who finally wins out down the road: Flynn or Russell (that's not a bad problem to have). I will keep them both any time!

all i know i was sitting behind jack hunt and a couple of other players from last years team saturday and the whole time they were saying flynn is the best qb on the team. I fully expect him to play and play well this coming week. Its way to early to write him off.
