What would ‘pulling it off ‘ mean? It will take specific results to qualify as successful. The two most significant issues are:
    1) A formal end to the war. This requires S Korea and Japan. We can’t do it alone.
    2) De-nuclearization of some sort. Remember W had a 6 party treaty to do so and has inspectors, limits to enrichment etc. it didn’t work out did it?
Just started a dialogue is a very low bar that any US president could have achieved. It would give Kim all he wants, legitimacy and gain us nothing. @Bengal B and @el005639 what do you think qualifies?

If Trump pulls this off it will be without any help from a single democrat, no help form the MSM who will probably try to destroy and ruin it and without the backing of some on the site who hate Trump and want to see him fail. Low bar? That statement from you just shows how petty you are. These one on one talks are historic yet you call that a low bar. Kim walking into the DMZ and meeting the SOKO leader is historic. Kim hasn't fired a single rocket since Trump put the stink eye on him.

Neaux it is you who has set a personal low bar. If it succeeds it will be without your hateful non backing of Trump.

You sure spent a lot of time avoiding the question. As usual and like your king Trump rather than answer you devolve to personal attacks.
Try agai Moe. I gave both the highest possible results and the lowest. It can be anything in between.
    WHAT CONSTITUTES SUCCESS????
Give me something concrete not your usual BS.

Apparently Canada wanted 6 year old "Mikey" who has a bike riding paper route in suburbia to head up their country. This little boy hasn't been keeping up with current events and must think Obama is still in charge down here. He apparently thinks that its ok to slap 270% tariffs on our dairy products with no tariffs from us. Trump is fixing to send him to his room and take away his tv privileges so he can't watch An Inconvenient Truth anymore.

Man I loved it so much when Trump skipped the fraudulent climate change portion of the G7, that had to make little boy Trudeau have a temper tantrum!

This one will be fun to watch.

Watching the news and every MSM is using your "low bar" buzz word. So you got that buzz word from your buddies at the MSM or you didn't but think the same. Way to go Winston. Why dont you just join that stellar vulgar human being one of America's finest yes Robert Deniro and chant "fuck Trump" on national tv.

Winston, if you expect one meeting to do this, you are being unrealistic. Look how long it took Reagan to get things accomplished with Gorbechov.

No kidding. My question still holds; what constitutes success in this meeting and in the process?
Trump has indicated he’ll get it all done tomorrow. Right! If the meeting starts a real process leading to a resolution that’s great. However follow through and attention to detail isn’t one of his strong points. What will he do after are valid questions, aren’t they?
As I pointed out we have already had a denuclearization agreement with N Korea that included specific goals and inspections. There were 6 nations party (N & S Korea, China, Russia, Japan and us) to it and it was violated by the North and failed.
If Trump trumpets this as a great victory without the follow upsyou point out are required what will that mean? Is it a success and worth the expenditure of our time and reputation?
I’d like to see some standard set before the propaganda takes over.

first step in a journey...what would consitute success is ultimate peace and reunification of the koreas. That wont happen today but if happens over 10 years then trump deserves credit for bringing the parties to the negioatiing table.
