1. Best out of three.

    :geauxtige

  2. System should work that way. 1-1 right now
  3. I have read many posts tonight, and held back on posting... amidst huge disappointment.

BUT, this is exactly what I've been feeling for the last few weeks... and frankly as SOON as LSU won on Nov 5th, I said to myself... this is my worst nightmare, as soon as the rematch stuff came up. I won't make any comments about JJ or Coach Miles (the thing that irritates me just as much as losing, is the oh, "he sucks" right after "he's the greatest"--afterall, after Nov 5th, wasn't the praise for Miles just as great as the seeming disdain today?) or the fact that frankly, we were outplayed today in every facet.

But, this is what I echo. What do you do with the banners that you unfurl next year?

LSU 13-1, beating 9 ranked teams, and 3 in the top 3 or whatever. We're 1-1 against Bama, and beat the Rose Bowl champ, Sugar Bowl Champ, and the Orange Bowl Champ. We're the SEC Champ.

Alabama 12-1, playing one less game goes 1-1 against LSU, does not win their division or conference championship, but they are :crystal:?

    :confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused: :po:
  4. I had no problem with them playing Bama again. Look if your going to lay claim to being the best you beat whomever you come up against and for the entire season LSU has done that until tonight. I don't think most people thought this was going to be the outcome and most people certainly didn't think that with a month to prepare the tigers would come in with basically the same game plan as the first game. I certainly didn't and really thought we would come in with something fresh considering how much trouble the offense had against bama and Georgia running the same gameplan.

I would say play best two out of three but I would have a bad feeling he would play JJ again in all 4 quarters of the 3rd game.
  5. Very well said. Seems to me a much of this call for a rematch came from ESPN. I suppose why not, they would be televising the game, so why not hype "round 2" to high heaven. I said on the game thread that it appears our winning on November 5th was not a good thing -- I was half joking, but I also truly believe the talking heads would not have been beating the drums for a rematch if we had lost that game.

  6. I wanted okie st. I don't believe in rematches
  7. Crazy, isn't it... The part about LSU being 13-1, with everything that was accomplished during the regular season, and Bama sitting at home, not winning the division or conference. I'm not whining here, but it sure is an F'ed up system.

    :geauxtige
  8. Hate to have to agree: the O stunk up the Superdome something fierce. It had to burn something awful to be in the crowd tonight.

    A mind-numbingly tough loss.
  9. Just wait until there is a playoff and you have a 3-loss national champion who gets hot at the end.
  10. Look, I'm not going to look whiny and complain about having to win a game on a championship stage. Yes, the marbles were all on the line tonight and we came up short.

BUT, I think everyone is entitled to argue about "fairness" right? If we truly felt the process was fair, I don't think folks would be posting. The crazy thing about this all is an imperfect system, and imperfect results in the season, lead to an inopportune time for LSU to lay an egg.

But, I've complained enough. I guess we can all say that as the SEC Champions of 2011-2, LSU was the best team in the best conference... also the conference that won the national championship! So, by the transitive property, therefore, LSU is the (or in fact better than) national champion! :)
