yeah i'm curious about that too.

i know the ucla dc will be looking for a job. he's actually pretty revered (although i can't remember his name dwayne something or rather). he really did a lot with a little over there and if he had some talent he'd probably be pretty stout.

i should say though that i'm a tenuta guy first and foremost.

    To answer your original question:

I would think that we'd hire a new DC sometime in the coming weeks (we can afford to take our time). The hire can be announced and the incoming DC can stay on his current job until after the bowl games.

I think this would cut down on the confusion for the players, and make for a smooth transition both for us and the school our new DC will be leaving.

What I've heard about the 'O' is that he is a beast of a recruiter, but that he'll go after anyone; even those of questionable character. Any truth to this at all?

i didn't know tenuta had interest in being the head guy there. i thought he hated talking to the press.

anyhoo regarding coach O, i think it's imperative for a head coach to get along with "the opposite side of the ball" coordinator. i don't think miles and jimbo were on the same page and i wouldn't want a def. coordinator who wasn't on board with miles.

While he did do that at Ole Miss, it was primarily b/c he had to.

as a coordinator, he'd go after who Miles told him to.

I agree. I wouldn't mind 'O' being on staff, but I wouldn't want him as the DC.

At this point, I think he'd take anything that brought him a paycheck. Just like Saban realized he wasn't a good pro head coach, maybe 'O' realizes he's better served at being an assistant.
