Can Marcus Randall play DB? What is his timing in the 40?

I am definitely torn between Mauck staying and getting to see JaMarcuss Russell finally play. With all the receivers, including Doucet and Xavier Carter who LSU WILL get, JaMarcuss will have weapons everywhere on that field, including someone by the name of Justin Vincent. LSU's offense will rival LSU's defense in the next 4 years.

    Who would be 3rd QB?

If Matt leaves and Marcus moves to DB, who would be the third-string QB?

I'm not even worried about whether Flynn or Russell are 1a or 1b but I don't recall us having another QB other than Randall.

    Thoughts?

Randall will stay rooted at the 3rd string. Don't look for him to play defense. DO look for LSU to try very hard to sign Ryan Perriloux (sp?) next year and get him to redshirt.

TigerFan23, someone told me the same thing Sunday afternoon regarding Russell although it was 3rd hand. Something about that Mauck would obviously go into the season as the starter but the coaches would play Russell a series here and there and feel bad about Russell taking Mauck's job during the season. This was assuming Mauck plays good solid football like he did this year. It just sounds like Russell is that good and the timing is right for Mauck to move on. If he does, I'll never forget the tremendous job he did for us here. His intangibles are second to none.

There was a report a couple of weeks ago that Marquise Hill declared for the draft. Hill said it was a false report.

Did Webster go into this year thinking it was his senior year (i.e. when did he get that year back?).

My uniformed, uneducated, top of my head guess is that Russell will start for two years and go to the NFL and then Flynn will be the QB for his junior & senior years.

Yes he started as a Sr.

Pelliroux has been to numerous LSU game and will more than likely be a Tiger. I have heard from several people including his HS Coach that he should be a top 5 if not #1 QB next year. I saw him play once and he is damn good

mauck is gone. you can all mark that down. i work with a former player who was a qb and is still good friends with matt and talks to him atleast once a week and he says matt is going. as far as randall moving to bd i've been saying he needed to do this. i think he runs a 4.5 but not positive.

Randall is 2nd string now and will be next year. There is no way Saban has 2 redshirt freshman as 1st and 2nd string.....even though Flynn might have more ability, Saban will want some experience at backup.....JMO

Another assistant coach is leaving. Lance Thompson has accepted the DC position with Central Florida. Good luck to coach Thompson.
