I always find it important to read the opening post of any thread so as not to make foolish statements, and not pi$$ everyone off. Just a tip.:thumb:

Tiga, you are so different over there in 'SC country, its interesting to see the stripes change when you're on your home court :thumb:

I'm not going to argue the past, it doesn't change matters. But I will say this though, it should've been us playing you guys in the Sugar Bowl and not Bob Stoops' Sooners. How would've the outcome been different? Well, there probably be no dispute to either side making a claim for their respective teams, so there is really no point in arguing that, is there?

Still, it makes for a humourous debate, doesn't it?

    Well we agree then.

I never understand why LSU was even brought into the whole discussion back in 2003.
LSU was ranked #2 in ALL three polls so there should be NO debate on if LSU should have been there. And yes it SHOULD have been LSU vs USC. If you dont win your own conference then you shouldnt win the National Title.

And for the record, with LSUs Defense I dont think USC would have stood a chance. LSUs defense that year was one of the fastest, strongest defenses i have seen in college football. But USC is(was) good and it would have been one heck of a game.

Regardless, the system (as flawed as it is) that everyone started the season with to determine a National Champion was won by LSU.

In my eyes USC won a Prize a popularity contest.
    LSU won the National Championship.
But again my eyes are seeing things through purple and gold glasses.

Your right its a tired discussion. Sorry. Had to vent.

It may definitely lead to some heated debates, but it's pretty much moot because as fans, our minds never seem to change. But one thing is for sure, it will be interesting if our two teams do meet. Will it be called the BCS title game that should've been?

Not now, that discussion was kicked around this year for the possible Rose Bowl.
None of the same people are there anymore, they are two different teams now.
So whoever won a matchup between LSU and USC wouldnt really change a thing as far as this discussion.

It is a good discussion and its always fun to watch the debate....

Its why college football is so great, its a talking sport.
