21 degrees with a wind chill of 8 in Dallas. Oh, and I somehow caught the flu or something while being iced in. So, now I really need to hope for a 4th straight ice day tomorrow. Since it won't be getting above freezing here until sometime on Saturday, it's a pretty good bet. Oh, and snow is in the forecast for tonight and tomorrow...and Monday...and next Wednesday...
I've heard a few people from the south say over the years that 20 degree temps (for example) "feel" much colder in areas with higher humidity than the same temp in a drier climate. I'm not sure if this is true but seems to make sense, similar to how humidity makes higher temps feel warmer. Earlier in the week, some of those wind gusts (Houston area) combined with whatever humidity levels made it seem colder than anything I've ever experienced. I've only been in temps near zero a couple of times (which happened to be drier climates w/o wind) and it didn't feel nearly as cold as the other day. Is there a wind/humidity chill factor that is somewhat accurate?
sorry to hear you arent feeling well. just stay curled up under the blankets with a cup of hot tea. and sleep! hope you get to feeling better soon!
You really ARE filling in for tirk, aren't you???? All of the North Texas schools are closed tomorrow--4 days in a row.
