Finally made it home tonight at 6:15. We left DFW at 10:45am. It's usually a 2 hour drive. This is what the road looked like for about 100 miles. I posted a few more pics here. Rough trip, but it's Christmas and we are all safely home together. My, and my kids' first white Christmas. Pretty beautiful scenery. I'll maybe post a few more pics tomorrow when I venture out.
Kyle, I'm glad you didn't venture back to Wichita Falls. All I saw on the news on Christmas were stories about folks trapped on the highway to WF; they were getting their reports from people on Twitter, who were worried they were going to die out there.
Thanks for the good wishes ya'll. It was really bad out there. We made it the next day in 8 hours. Had to turn around yesterday and go back to DFW for an anniversary party. Roads were really good coming down. We were gonna stay a couple of days, but it is supposed to snow again tomorrow so we are hitting the road while the weather is good. My neighbor tells me there is still 8 inches of snow in my front yard!
It's been snowing here since 2 p.m. I still like it, though. Chalk it up to only seeing the white stuff three times as a kid growing up in South Louisiana.
26 right now. low was 15. got a few snow flurries earlier. the real cold front gets here late in the week. thur forcast is high of 19, low of minus 1 (that is WITHOUT wind chills, and the wind is supposed to be a hard north wind). trade weather with ya.
