Loving this weather BTR is going though. This is my favorite time of the year (I know I'm pretty much alone in that). Warm drinks, brisk air, not too much rain.

Dad is in India at the moment and said it's really muggy.

Has been in the high 70's all week here, but the rain is coming down right now, so that is probably about to change, although I wouldn't know because I have made myself not look at the forecast because I don't think I want to know!

    Learning to live without ELECTRICITY!

    GLORY BE!

We got our power back in the wee hours of this (Friday) morning and finally our internet back on about 8 a.m. We use Comcast cable internet and it was the first to come back on - as was our cable tv.

We're still in the grips of a MASSIVE ice storm here in western Kentucky. Our power went off about 6:30 in the evening on Tuesday. The temperature has not been above freezing, and our house cooled down to about 40 degrees.

We have a gas stove (because it's better for cooking) so were able to heat the kitchen to a reasonable level for the past few days. It was like camping indoors!

But the worst of it is the boredom. Phones (yes, even cell phones) were all out of service. Cell phones are still not working. We actually read most of the two days by daylight through the windows, and by flashlight when it got dark.

We are indeed very fortunate to be back in business - almost 75% of Paducah is still without power. Just like after a hurricane, businesses are out of everything we need, or don't have power to open. Had a near riot at one of the two gas stations that were able to open.

Imagine going through the aftermath of a hurricane in sub-freezing weather for several days, and you'll have an idea of the fun we've been having.

Things are ok at our house now - but when things start to thaw, It'll take weeks for us to clean up the yard.

I knew when Jim Cantore was in Paducah that things couldn't be good for you guys.
