Not one mention of the LSU Dairy Store? I went there a few times but don't remember how it compared to other ice creams I had. I now live up in Michigan near Michigan State University and they have an excellent Dairy Store with really good prices and inventive flavors. They made a flavor of ice cream in honor of every team in the Big 10 (guess they'll need to think of a new flavor for Nebraska). Among my favorites are the Sesquicentennial Swirl, a vanilla ice cream with pieces of cake and green icing and the Buckeye Blitz--a peanut butter ice cream with ribbons of fudge and buckeye candies (basically a peanut butter ball dipped in chocolate. It's good stuff and I highly recommend it if you're in the area.
The place sure is hidden, but I enjoyed it. They stay open much later than Cold Stone, too, for any college folk out for a drunken, late night sweet.
I used to work across the street from the Dairy Store. I used to love to walk over and get their butter pecan milk shakes as an afternoon snack. I like Marble Slab better than Cold Stone. Boscoes is good. Have not been to the place by Walmart yet. Is it any good?
