It's fried cornmeal. You eat it with sugar and milk, like cereal. The Little Rascals at the orphanage used to call it "mush".

My family fries it up in a cast iron pot and mixes coffee with it, and a lil cream.

I don't know if it tastes that good so much as I enjoy eating breakfast at Grandma's house...whatever was served up......

I think this is the toughest question ever posed to me on a message board.

    I can't answer it.

I have many favorites. It's too hard.

Maybe if I was on Death Row and had to select my last meal, I could successfully answer the question. However, I would probably still pick a few favorites. It would depend on how strict the warden was.

Somebody told me that the favorite last meal on death-row at Angola was fried shrimp.

I could probably eat myself to death on them, actually. Death by crustacean.

    #1 All time favorite is:

spinach leaf salad with bacon bits, croutons, boiled eggs, tomatoes, raw onions topped with Jason's Deli ranch dressing.

I get that every single time and I never tire of it!!!

you sure you ain't a democrat?? :hihi:

I have to admit a good salad bar is pretty high on my list too. As long as it's all you can eat. Jason's Deli is good, so is Ruby Tuesday, with a bowl of chicken chili on the side.

after some serious thought i have assembled the perfect meal:

    cup of crab gumbo

    baked mac and cheese
ibc or abita bottled root beer or abita amber.

    mmm...mmm...mmm
you guys have listed some good foods.
marc--i love the breakfast idea; really hard to beat.
although i might sub tomato juice for the orange juice (better yet- a bloody mary, would make the napping part sweeter.)
but, if i'm going to pick just one i'll go with shrimp and grits.
i've worked on my recipe for 2 years and get no complaints.
mmm..now i'm ready to go stir up another batch.
