Max compatibility with apps on my other five apple devices, for one. I like the small size, too. I forget that it is in my pocket. I actually preferred the old iPhone 4 size. I just don't want a big screen on a device I carry in my pocket. I have an iPad for when I need a bigger screen. I like it's thinness, I don't need a replaceable battery. I can use it heavily all day long and not run out of power. I always buy any device with the maximum storage space and I've never had any issues requiring me to add card storage to it. I don't play games on it or watch movies or take a lot of photos and rarely listen to music on it. I have better, more specialized devices for those activities.

Mine has been perfectly reliable and study, its been dropped a lot and I do not use a fat case on it. Surprisingly it is as tough as the motorola razer that I used for years. I do not need to hack into smartphones and add bell and whistles. Windows people used to do that on PC's, too and they were always wondering why they had issues. I can find an app for anything that I want to do with it. I drive a truck for 12 years or so before replacing it and I use a computer or a phone for 5 years or so before replacing it. One, because I am cheap. And Two because I don't have a need to have the latest gadget to feel hip. It's a fucking tool to me, not a constant companion or a robot toy.

I don't care if you want the newest gadget with the latest blood-pressure meter, 60 old war movies, and a bottle-opener on it. To each his own. Just don't try to tell me that the only reason to own an iPhone is because of brand loyalty and lack of technological know-how at my age. I was programming computers when your Mama was still wiping your ass.

The makers of the Swiss Army knife should come out with a Swiss Army Phone.

I no longer carry a phone, at all. Been without for over 2 years now. Kind of started as a social experiment that turned into a positive. I am in a unique position that I may continue to do without, if only for a short time more. I have a pre-pay (burner) juuuust in case the truck took a dump out in the sticks. The only person in our family that does have a phone is my kid...and he gets cricket.

I have enjoyed the independence of not having to be tethered to what started out as an emergency communication device. I have not worked for another but myself in nearly 5 years. I no longer do emergency responses so the need for an advanced level of communication does not exist. I only have 2 clients that know I don't have a cell phone and out of respect, they think it is pretty cool. As long as I can deliver without having ineffective communications, I keep clients. I don't advertise and I don't send pictures of my pecker, so until the need arises, I don't really want one. I do have tablets and a computer devoted just for work, but if you want to catch me while I am on the road...don't, cause I ain't interested.

Almost all new smartphones are thinner than an iphone. And the apps are compatible across Android phones and Windows based.

So basically you like a small phone with apps that's r also also reliable. Basically no real reason to like an iPhone beyond familiarity. Which is what I thought That's fine. I just wanted to make sure there was nothing I was missing because the iPhone was the coolest thing when it came out. I'd like to need one again at some point. I do love my iPad however. And Ive owned a couple Kindles and a Samsung tablet.

I told you you weren't paying attention, just pontificating to yourself. I don't know why I bother with you.

No I saw nothing specific you posted about the iPhone that makes it better than another. I was really hoping there was a selling point besides small and reliable.

Please stop trying to change Red's mind about Apple products. I own a little Apple stock and people like Red are the reason I'm making a profit.

Red does too. Hence his fanboyism.
