1. Who has a better market share--Timex or Rolex? Toyota or Mercedes Benz? Market share does not determine the quality of a product. Apple has embraced Adobe product development on the MacOS for decades, just not a resource hog like Flash because (to quote Jobs) it has "rapid energy consumption, poor performance on mobile devices, abysmal security, and a lack of touch support. I desire to avoid a 'third party' layer of software coming between the platform and the developer".

I have no issues moving data between systems, whenever I want it. And I use Apple extensively. I will use their products whether they are "top of the heap" or not. I used them back in the 80's when they were 5% of the market.
  2. iphones are fine for those who are happy just doing what it does. mostly older people who dont care about user customization.

that along with a smaller screen, closed operating system, no 3rd party keyboards, no nfc, no removable battery and no memory upgrades. not to mention the worst of all, being tied to shitty itunes.

the iphone needs to evolve for anyone who prefers any or all of these things. otherwise they will continue to lose their coveted market share as time passes. much like microsoft. either way, they will remain atop the smartphone market but it doesnt equate to a better product. anyone using a similarly priced product would have a difficult time regressing back to one imo.

using an iphone now in comparison feels very much like trying to go back to a blackberry. aint happening unless they adapt on many levels.
  3. I use a product if I like it. I don't give half a damn about market share when picking a device.

  4. of course not. i dont listen to britney spears even though she sells millions of records. I stated many reasons why I find it hard to go back to the iphone until they make a major overhaul. they are trying with token changes but its not been reflected in the product as of yet. not sure what positives would draw anyone to it over similarly priced products beyond just being comfortable with an outdated device and brand loyalty. but to each his own.
  5. I could give you a list, but you ain't listening.

  6. im listening but never asked for your preferences. simply listed mine.
  7. Another Asian dance mom rant. The same woman that pointed out my "gray hairs" at dance a few years back may be responsible for "stealing" my 3rd graders modern dance recital costume at dress rehearsal on Saturday. The director of the studio tried calling her to ask last night (because both of my girls said her daughter threw all of her costumes on top of Skylar's stuff, so it's likely that the mom scooped up what was on the table and made a quick getaway at the end of the dress rehearsal--carrying off Skylar's costume in the mix.) Regardless, she didn't return the call in the three hours we were at the studio last night.

Fortunately, the costume is in stock in Skylar's size, and the studio will foot the bill for it and the overnight delivery charge. But still, I am meticulous with the girls' costumes and would never run off with someone else's costume. Poor dance mom etiquette.
  8. No, you suggested that preference for an iPhone was "just being comfortable with an outdated device and brand loyalty". And I was pointing out that you are misinformed.

  9. For me it is. What benefits does it have over similar devices. For you that is.
  10. My dog loves cat shit also (and my Basset Hound that passed away a few months ago at her fair share too). That's the primary reason that I don't let my dog lick me anywhere near the face.

It's interesting how these types of threads lead to everyone justifying their own bad behaviors. "I'm not too lazy to spend 20 seconds to put the cart in its place, I'm just helping to employ that kid who needs a job!!!"

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but throwing cigarettes out of the car window used to be tolerated but I think that has changed in the past couple of decades. It annoys me a little when I see it these days.
