I too cook with onions in just about everything. I also rarely cook without celery, bell papper and garlic. I still use onion powder, garlic powder, garlic salt, and onion salt frequently.

I have friends from Cincinnati and have tried it. It's okay, but I like chili to be just chili. Now, the cinnamon is interesting. I'll have to try that.

I once met a fellow from Lebanon who was a fairly good cook. He liked to fry chicken. First thing he did was sprinkle it liberally with cinnamon (not cinnamon sugar). Then he'd salt and pepper it, flour it, and fry it. I had to try it. It's mighty good.

i grow a ton of herbs every summer, bu last fall we had a really hard early freeze that killed all of my rosemary plants before i could get them mulched for the winter. now i have to start over with new plants.

i use a lot of fresh rosemary in a great rosemary focaccia.
